    Closing Remarks

    Mr. Kweon Ki-hwan is a senior career diplomat and is currently serving as the Deputy Minister for Global and Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Prior to this role, he held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ireland.

    He has an extensive career in the Foreign Service. From 2018 to 2020, he served as the Director-General for International Organizations. His previous appointments include Deputy Counsel-General at the Korean Consulate General in New York; Deputy Director-General for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs; Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in the Republic of Philippines; Director of the Human Rights and Social Affairs Division at the International Organizations Bureau; Director of the Overseas Koreans Division at the Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs Bureau; Assistant to the United Nations Secretary-General at the UN secretariat; Counsellor at the Korean Embassy in the Republic of Iraq; and First Secretary at the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.

    He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Seoul National University and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Boston College, Massachusetts.
