Emilia Hannuksela

Emilia Hannuksela is a senior consultant specializing in strategic advocacy, peace and security, and human rights. Her clients include the United Nations and national governments.

For over five years at the United Nations, Emilia served as the Team Lead on Youth, Peace, and Security, steering global advocacy efforts that advanced the meaningful participation of young people in peace and security processes. Her work was defined by multistakeholder partnerships and strategic collaboration, driving initiatives that amplify youth voices and promote inclusive peacebuilding.

In this capacity, she has honed expertise in intergovernmental engagement, negotiation, public speaking, and strategic advocacy, while setting up a dynamic Youth, Peace and Security portfolio at the United Nations and overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of a global team.

Before her tenure at the UN, Emilia contributed to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the Finnish Human Rights Centre, where she championed inclusive human rights policies and helped build impactful platforms for dialogue and understanding. Across her career, she has remained committed to ensuring that the perspectives of marginalized communities are not only heard but drive meaningful action toward sustainable peace and equality.
