Jasmin Nario-Galace
Senior Program Director, Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP)
Jasmin Nario-Galace, Ph D, is the Senior Program Director at the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) with headquarters in New York, where she leads strategic efforts to advance the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda globally and locally. Her work includes supporting National Action Plans, strengthening grassroots women’s leadership, and fostering partnerships with governments, UN agencies, and civil society.
Before joining GNWP, she served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Miriam College, Executive Director of the Center for Peace Education, and President of Pax Christi-Pilipinas. Jasmin coordinated the CSO-led drafting of the Philippines’ first National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 and 1820 and co-convened WE Act 1325.
Internationally, she has held leadership roles in Pax Christi International, IANSA’s Women’s Network, and the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund. She was a strong advocate for the Arms Trade Treaty and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons as part of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), 2017 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
Jasmin currently serves on the Multi-sectoral Governance Council of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity and on the advisory boards of WPHF-Philippines, the Forum Arms Trade and the Women Waging Peace at the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, University of San Diego. She has authored numerous publications and presented widely on Women, Peace and Security, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, gender and disarmament, and peace education. She holds an MA in Peace Studies from the Kroc Institute at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
