Agbeko Koffi Sodjinou

  • Gender Affairs Officer, UN Multidimensional integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA)

    From Togo in West Africa, Koffi A. Sodjinou holds a master’s degree in Sociology of development and social change. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in the areas of gender and women’s rights of, microfinance, administration, child’s rights and community development. Currently serving in MINUSCA as Gender Affairs Officer, he held the same position in MONUSCO for five years, where he led the Gender Unit for almost two years in the absence of the Senior Gender Advisor.

    He works to strengthening the peacekeeping mission’s accountability and capacities for gender responsiveness in terms of Protection of Civilian, stabilization, and enhancing women’s participation and involvement in the peace and political processes, while ensuring that the security needs, concerns and capacities of women and men, boys and girls are considered in the mission's service delivery. ​

    During his service in MONUSCO and MINUSCA, he actively contributed to the performance of gender analysis of the peacekeeping mission’s components and sections to better inform the programming and planning processes. His work in Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo which are conflict affected countries, provided him with a strong ability of working in a complex and challenging situation, interacting with military, police, and civilian’s components to ensure the integration of gender perspectives and the women, peace and security agenda in their work.
